Vision:

The Mechanical Engineering Department endeavors to be recognized globally for outstanding education and research leading to well qualified technicians, who are innovative, entrepreneurial and successful in advanced fields of mechanical engineering to cater to ever changing industrial demands and social needs.

Mission:

  1. To impart knowledge in principles and applications related to design and development of various systems for societal needs.
  2. To impart highest quality education to the students to build their capacity and enhancing their skills
  3. To provide the facilities and environment conducive to high quality education to provide diverse career options as well as research in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
  4. To maintain state of the art research facilities to provide collaborative environment that stimulates faculty, staff and students with opportunities to create, analyze, apply and disseminate knowledge.
  5. To provide the students with environment of excellence, leadership, ethical guidelines and lifelong learning needed for a long productive career.

Mechanical Engineering Department was started in the year 2010. The department offers three years diploma in mechanical Engineering. This Program imparts students with skills required for manufacturing industry along with regular teaching learning process, students also get exposure through industrial visits, expert lectures, workshops, participation in various competitions and exhibitions. Career counseling and personality grooming sessions are organized for students on regular basis.
Mechanical engineering is one of the most sought after branches which create the greatest demand for the professional requirements in India and abroad. Almost all sectors of industries require the mechanical engineers. Accordingly technical education needs to be improved with latest knowledge with practical experience and visualization. On completion of program, the students will have following career opportunities –

  1. They will have ample opportunity to work with production industries.
  2. They may start their own work with the support of available start-up programs run by Government.
  3. They may take admission directly in second year of bachelor in engineering courses of Mechanical Engineering / production technology through Lateral Entry Scheme of M.P. Government.

The diploma holder of the program will:

PEO_1: Acquire a knowledge base which can be built up through further studies, professional involvement and lifelong learning.
PEO_2: Apply their technical skills, critical thinking and problem solving ability in professional industrial practices or tackle social, technical and business challenges.
PEO_3: Adopt ethical attitude and exhibit effective skills in communication, management, teamwork and leadership.
PSO_4: Have a successful career in Production industries as well as Government sector & public sector.

At the end of the Programme, a diploma holder will be able to

PO_1: Apply the knowledge of basic sciences and fundamental engineering concepts in technical problems in related fields.
PO_2: Identify and solve engineering problems, conduct experiments and investigate to analyze and interpret data to arrive at substantial conclusions.
PO_3: Propose an appropriate solution for engineering problems complying with functional constraints such as economic, environmental, societal, ethical, safety and sustainability.
PO_4: Carry out investigations, design and conduct experiments, analyze and interpret the results to provide valid conclusions.
PO_5: Select/develop and apply appropriate techniques and IT tools for the design & analysis of the systems.
PO_6: Identify causes behind and carry out assessment for societal, health, legal and cultural issues with competence in professional technical practices.
PO_7: Demonstrate professional skills and contextual reasoning to assess environmental & social issues for sustainable development.
PO_8: Demonstrate knowledge of professional and ethical practices.
PO_9: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in a team, and in multi-disciplinary situations.
PO_10: Communicate effectively among engineering community, being able to comprehend and write effectively reports, presentation and give / receive clears instructions.
PO_11: Demonstrate and apply engineering & management principles in their own / team projects in multidisciplinary environment.
PO_12: ecognize the need for, and have the ability to engage in independent and lifelong learning.
PSO_1: Diploma holder of the program will achieve excellence in product design, production, assembly, thermal engineering and manufacturing system by acquiring knowledge in mathematics, science and designing principles.
PSO_1: Diploma holder will be able to analyze, interpret and provide solutions to the real life mechanical engineering problems.
PSO_1: Diploma holder will learn managerial skills to work effectively in a team and in a society by following ethical and environmental practices.

  • It is a full time 3year Regular programme
  • Duration of the programme is Three years (six semesters).
  • Intake capacity is 54 seats.
